OUTTOEAT.CO.UK was born out of frustration. We were fed up with being stuck in a rut, going to the same restaurants week in and week out. Seeking inspiration, we started looking in the telephone directory... but there was no way to narrow your search to a particular area and all that tiny text was making our eyes go wonky. So naturally, we turned to the internet... but we still couldn't find one site that covered all of our needs. Either the site didn't cater exclusively to Pubs and Restaurants and you had to wade through all the listings for Plumbers, Plasterers and Recruitment Consultants to find the information that you were seeking... or the site is a ''restaurant guide'' but it only has a handful of listings.
We needed one place to see a comprehensive list of restaurants covering the whole South-east of England, with simple easy to use navigation. It also had to have more than just a list of names and addresses. How can anyone choose a restaurant with so little information?
We wanted to include Takeaway restaurants on the website as well. I can't count the number of times that I have driven by a Takeaway local to my house and thought that it would be nice to give it a try... if only I had the menu. Again we were stuck in the rut of using the same Takeaway all the time, just because we had their menu. But what if there was a website that offered listings of all the local Takeaways along with their menu making it easy to order? Wouldn't you give them a try?
Then there is the question, what came first the chicken or the egg? From the
start, we want our Guide to have as many listings as possible... to give the
website users all the information possible to make an informed decision about
their dinner plans. So we have loaded as many listing onto the site initially
as possible, with the basic information that was available to us... now our job is
to see each of these pubs and restaurants and ask them to elaborate on that
information. With salespeople working all over the Southeast of England, we are
hoping to continue to update our listings on a daily basis. OUTTOEAT is
progressing all the time and we are always striving to bring even more diners
to our website. With our free prize draw for a meal for two... we want to
encourage the diners who use our website to try new restaurants that they can
find featured on the site.
We are striving to build OUTTOEAT into a household name, unlike other
restaurant guides out there we aren't going to rely solely on search engines to
drive users to our site. We want OUTTOEAT to be the first name people think of
when planning an evening out.
